On October 30, 2016, Fr. Carl Scherrer tells about a study by Harvard University that found that people who go to church once a week live longer, happier, and healthier lives. Good spiritual health, physical health, and mental health are all interrelated. As we celebrate anointing of the sick, let us remember that God’s presence is always a healing presence.

He talks to us about the two stories related to leprosy from today’s readings, and how in both stories, only the foreigner came back to say thank you. He emphasizes that we need to express our gratitude to God in our prayers. He also discusses that we are all in need of healing.
